What We Grow
Our crops consist of those that thrive in a high desert environment.
The growing season alternates dramatically, from frigid cold late spring and early fall temperature drops, to long, dry days- precipitation is unpredictable and at times, scarce. We use drip irrigation to use as little water as possible and always utilize row cover and mulch to lose as little water as possible.
We grow many crops that can thrive in the cold of our early and late season here. Some early season crops we grow include kale, bok choy, spinach, chard, peas, carrots, and beets.
We grow a variety of both winter and summer squash, melons, corn, garlic, onions, celery, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes. We have our consistent crops, but always are trying new vegetables/ varieties. We also incorporate companion planting with herbs and flowers. Though we primarily focus on vegetables, we also grow specialty flowers for cut arrangements.
